Established formally in 2011 as Birkenhead Consulting (Pty) Ltd,
Birkenhead Group have been involved in numerous assignments throughout Sub-Saharan Africa.
Birkenhead Group provides services and products to mainly Mobile Network Operators and Telco’s. These services include consultancy and SME support, Project / Program management, the supply of various software and hardware solutions, and Resource Augmentation.
Located just outside of Cape Town, Africa is in our DNA and we are familiar with and experienced in its challenges. At the same time, we are overawed by the continent’s beauty and the ingenuity, vibrancy and potential of its people.
Our Services
The Birkenhead Group provides strategic and business consulting, as well as network architecture consulting. Our focus is Sub Saharan Africa and spans the entire value chain: clients include wireline, fixed wireless, mobile operators, other service providers, enterprises and vertical players, vendors, investors, regulators, and industry associations. We develop realistic and accurate financial plans for technology upgrades and digital transformation, assessing the viability of different business models, and evaluating and selecting vendors. We rely on a deep understanding of the industry and the breadth of experience to chart the approach the client is most comfortable with.
We work with regulators to develop effective regulatory frameworks, license fees, spectrum allocations and related issues.
We also provide technical and Project Management Resource Augmentation, as required, to Clients during major swap-outs or transformations.
